As an assistant manager, you will work closely with the registered manager to ensure all responsibilities of residential care are met, and the highest possible standards of care evidenced through internal quality assurance processes, in compliance with Ofsted and the local authority.

Essential criteria:
- A genuine commitment to looked after children and young people, and anti-oppressive practice
- Four years residential care experience and experience of working with staff in a supervisory capacity
- NVQ / ILM Level 3 / QCF 3 in Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent or be working towards and NVQ level 4 in Management
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989/2004 and associated guidance and regulations, Working Together to Safeguard, and Leaving Care Act (2000)
- Committed to your own professional development and learning, and that of others
- Good communication, IT, and report writing skills
You will report to the Registered Manager in your day-to-day work and receive individual mentoring and full support to help you in your role, and progress.
