Are you an experienced young person’s social care professional with management experience? If you’re driven to make a difference, with a desire to lead and implement change across an entire service, this new senior management opportunity within our Supported Accommodation Service could be the dynamic role you’re looking for.
A completely new opportunity within our expanding, sector-leading Supported Accommodation Service, you’ll support and work closely with three registered service managers across our zones of Calderdale, Kirklees and Bradford to develop effective quality assurance processes that align with Ofsted frameworks and lead to improved outcomes and positive impact for young people.
This is a key role within our Supported Accommodation Service leadership team, reporting directly to the Nominated Individual to provide the robust support and quality assurance our expanding service now requires. Each zone comprising one or two group living properties of five to six beds plus several outreach properties in the community, each with floating support, your role will be to audit quality of provision and identify opportunities for improvement across the service. Identifying training for the registered service managers and their teams, enrichment opportunities for young people and driving and monitoring change will be key responsibilities of the role, as well as auditing practice and identifying key themes relating to the needs of young people and impacts on staff performance.
The recommendations you make will directly impact and drive quality provision yet further in our innovative, young-person centred service. Sharing our desire for continuous improvement you’ll get the chance to promote and share best practice to a wider network and ultimately share our organisational desire to provide the best in supported accommodation services for young people experiencing a range of challenges, embarking on their individual journeys of independence.
Including developing and performance managing registered service managers and their teams, the wide-ranging nature and service oversight / impact of this role cannot be underestimated. The successful candidate to the role will receive the same opportunities for their own development and career progression, plus support within an established culture of excellence and innovation.
The person
You’ll be a committed, thoughtful and instinctive leader in young people’s social care, with an impressive ability to understand the needs of young people in a supported accommodation service and what it takes to implement positive change across a service. Preferably with management experience, you will also be able to confidently manage and deal with referrals at a commissioning level, support live inspections and be flexible to the needs of this dynamic service across three geographical zones.
With the ability to motivate, inspire and support, you’ll be a natural advocate for the development and progression of others, as well as yourself. Committed to your own continuous learning and development in social care, you will understand how this explicitly contributes to better outcomes for young people. You will therefore be receptive to mentoring, with a willingness to progress your own practice. And relish the opportunity to work within a specialist young people’s social care provision for a progressive, non-hierarchical organisation and leadership team
