We are a local, West Yorkshire-established children and young people’s social care provider who develop provisions within residential care and supported accommodation services.

We’re proud to be a Living Wage Employer, committed to paying our employees a real living wage, and accredited by the Living Wage Foundation. All our Level 3/4 qualified staff are paid above the Living Wage (outside London) rate, with unqualified staff supported to become qualified and progress.

If you, or someone you know, are looking for a rewarding, long-term career in children and young people’s social care, please check this page regularly for the vacancies we are looking to fill in the near and further future.

You don’t need to come to us with qualifications – you’ll receive all the training you need. You just need to be the right person who wants to make a difference.

DBS checks and removable offences

Every successful candidate at Restorative will undergo an enhanced DBS check, which shows details of any criminal record you have, including cautions, reprimands, warnings, spent and unspent convictions. However, some cautions and convictions are not shown on an enhanced DBS because they are now known as ‘protected’ or ‘filtered offences’ and are removed.

Since 2020, certain cautions and convictions are filtered out from an enhanced DBS, depending on how many years ago it was, how old you were at the time, and whether you were cautioned or convicted.

For example, reprimands, final warnings and cautions received when you were under 18 years of age are not shown on an enhanced DBS. Some offences committed over the age of 18, for example, theft, are also filterable depending on how long ago the offence was committed and if you were convicted.

To check if a previous offence is filterable and will therefore be removed from your enhanced DBS, please visit the Government website where you can find their online checker.

To find out which offences are always included on an enhanced DBS, you can view the Government’s list of specified offences.

And for further information and understanding of what is and is not included in an enhanced DBS, including a flowchart to help you identify what offences are filtered out and removed, visit Unlock’s advice on DBS checks.
