We work hard at Restorative to ensure children and young people who are looked after in residential children’s homes, receive the highest possible standard of care, within holistic, positive settings. We follow a model of care that’s innovative within the industry; prioritising continuity of care and a strengths-based approach. It’s a model that ensures the success stories of many of the young people we work with, and improves their outcomes for happier, more successful lives.
We couldn’t be prouder of the work we do within our children’s homes, and we are now looking for a Senior Support Worker to join us and assist our Assistant Manager and Registered / Service Manager/s in delivering our social care provision. We’re pleased to say our residential care team is expanding, so we can deliver innovative care to more children and young people in our growing number of high-quality children’s homes.
You will need to be a dedicated team member, comfortable in a senior role and being a role model to less experienced workers, as well as taking a role in management team functions. You’ll need to be flexible too to meet the needs of this often challenging role, and have a passion and commitment to your own learning and development in social care.
Essential criteria:
- A genuine commitment to looked after children and anti-oppressive practice
- NVQ / ILM Level 3 / QCF 4 in Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent or be working towards
- Experience in residential care or other relevant experience of working with children and young people
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989/2004 and associated guidance and regulations, Working Together to Safeguard, and Leaving Care Act (2000)
- Good communication and IT skills
You will report to the Assistant Manager in your day-to-day work and receive individual mentoring and full support to help you in your role, and progress. Training and career opportunities are excellent at Restorative, as well as the potential for personal development, in a friendly, approachable and communicative team.
