The opportunity
We’re delighted to say, our exceptional supported accommodation service has now expanded into the Wibsey area of Bradford and we’re looking for a promising person, who is committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives, to fill our support worker role.
This is rewarding work and you don’t need to come to us with any social care qualifications. You just need to be dedicated to helping young people get to where they want to be in life. And be willing to learn and work towards your own best practice in social care.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right person because you’ll receive all the support you need, from an inclusive, friendly team, to become confident in your role, qualified and on the road to a career for life in young people’s social care. The work is varied, dynamic and gives you the opportunity to make a difference every single day, and that means in your own progress too.
This is just the start of the team’s further expansion into Bradford, which means a chance to help even more young people in a variety of accommodation settings, either living alone, or in a group accommodation. And this is your chance to join an organisation where everything we do works to make a difference, including to your own future.
The person
If you want to get ahead in young people’s social care but feel you don’t have the right experience or qualifications, this could be the job for you. It’s your personal qualities and drive to help young people that will ensure your success at Restorative.
We’ll help you to help others. If you want to learn, are willing to study and engage in a programme of self-development, you could be just who we’re looking for. We’re a great team, with a huge sense of pride in what we achieve through our high-quality service, and we support each other in, what can be, a challenging job at times.
You just need to want to progress and celebrate your own achievements along the way to excellence in social care, as much as the young people we help.
Our approach
We work hard at Restorative to ensure young people in our supported accommodation settings receive the highest possible standard of support, within holistic, positive settings. We follow a model of care that’s innovative within the industry; prioritising continuity of support and a strengths-based approach. It’s a model that ensures the success stories of many of the young people we work with, and improves their outcomes for happier, more successful lives.
Essential criteria:
- A genuine commitment to supporting young people and anti-oppressive practice
- Be working, or willing to work, towards a QCF Level 4 Diploma
- Previous experience of working in a young person’s support setting, or a role/s where there are transferable skills
- Good communication and IT skills
You will report to the Senior Support Worker in your day-to-day work and receive individual mentoring and full support to help you in your role, and progress. Training and career opportunities are excellent at Restorative, as well as the potential for personal development, in a friendly, approachable and communicative team.
