Restorative SCS First Annual Sports Day 2024
On 21/08/2024 we held our first ever Restorative Social Care Services Annual Sports Day. Most of our residential team and young people got involved, lots of fun was had!
We had an obstacle relay race, egg and spoon race, sack race, 3 legged race and a relay race. Needless to say there was much laughter and cheering. 4 teams raced against each other, jumping through hula hoops, throwing bean bags and bouncing on space hoppers! Ben and Team Micklemoss were the clear winners here!
Umpire Jo made a fair ruling throughout the day, called out some cheating and entered our managers into a space hopper race, disqualifying Sarah for improper use of a space hopper! (we’re as confused as you are!)
Next came Tug of War, a best of three for the two residential zones, Zone 2 prevailed once again, pulling the flag over the line with a score of Zone 1 winning 1, and Zone 2 taking the lead with 2 wins. Well done Zone 2! We ended on a fantastic game of rounders, with Zone 2 again coming up trumps!
Awards were given out for participation, plus 1st place in each event. Best dressed team was scooped up by Amar House who were rocking the sports day look all in pink. Keiley won best moment after a tumble meant Team Micklemoss pipped Team Amar to the post in the Relay Race! Team Rooley and Norland joined forces, along with Team Princeton and Team Church. Well done everybody, including our spectators who were on hand to help throughout the day!
It was amazing to see all of the staff and young people coming together to enjoy the day, promoting positive relationships and good health. We had a fantastic buffet after all the fun and games, there were empty plates all round. Well done Team Restorative!
