Overgate Hospice – Midnight walk

We are incredibly proud of all our young people and care staff that took part in the annual Overgate Midnight walk. This is the fourth consecutive year that Restorative Social Care Services young people and care staff have supported this amazing event for an amazing charity. Over 30 young people and care staff signed up to take part in the 10 mile walk, starting at midnight from Dean Clough in Halifax.

Some of our young people got a few hours sleep in preparation for the late night ahead, others stayed awake as they were to excited to sleep. The route is kept a secret until the start of the walk, and only revealed when participants arrive at the registration point on the night. This years route was a 10 mile circular walk around Halifax and walkers even passed the head office of Restorative Social Care Services in West Vale, with a couple of young people stopping for a photo.

The annual event is to raise essential funds for Overgate Hospice. Overgate Hospice provides expert care, support, advice and information for patients and their families, carers and loved ones. Many of our young people and care staff have had family and friends that have been cared for at Overgate Hospice, and we are incredibly proud of everyone’s efforts to complete the walk and raise essential funds for the hospice.
