Grove House Swing into 2026

Grove House, kicked off 2026 in style with an inspiring group activity that set the tone for the year ahead. The young people and staff recently visited Go Ape at Temple Newsam, taking on a high-ropes adventure designed to challenge fears, build confidence and strengthen friendships.

Despite initial nerves around heights and some social anxiety, all three young people showed incredible determination and resilience. With encouragement from staff and peers, every young person completed the full adventure assault course high up in the trees. What began with cautious steps quickly turned into moments of pride and excitement.

By the end of the experience, there were fearless leaps from high platforms and thrilling zip-line rides, with the young people soaring through the air like superheroes. The transformation in confidence was clear to see, as each young person pushed past their comfort zone and celebrated their achievements together.

More than just an adrenaline-filled day out, the activity focused on building meaningful friendships, self-belief and emotional resilience. These are vital life skills that will continue to support the young people as they move towards adulthood and greater independence.

It was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when young people are supported, encouraged and believed in. A fantastic start to the year and great work by everyone involved at Grove House.
