We are delighted to celebrate a fantastic achievement by one of the young people living in a Restorative SCS home.
The young person has been passionate about karting for several years, having enjoyed taking part in the sport every week even before moving into the Home. Since moving to Restorative SCS, he has continued to pursue his passion, practising hard and working consistently to improve his lap times and racing skills.
All that hard work recently paid off when he was invited to compete in the BIKC Local Finals.
It was a fantastic evening, with the young person attending the event alongside family and friends, while the Home Manager also proudly went along to offer support and encouragement.
There was some tough opposition on the track, and understandably, there were some early nerves. However, he quickly settled into the race and produced an impressive performance, finishing qualifying in fourth place and securing a strong position on the starting grid.
The racing was extremely competitive, with 20 hard-fought laps requiring plenty of concentration, skill and determination. At times, he had to navigate through traffic, but he remained focused and showed great confidence behind the wheel.
In an incredible finish, he produced two amazing overtakes during the final two laps to cross the line first and take a place on the podium. He also recorded the fourth-fastest lap time, making it a truly remarkable first race at the event.
His success continued throughout the evening. He qualified strongly once again, recording impressive lap times and earning his place in the final race for the fastest drivers on the track.
Despite the long evening and the demanding competition, he continued to give it his all, eventually finishing seventh overall. He also achieved his fastest lap of the evening with an impressive time of 25.883 seconds, finishing just 0.5 seconds behind first place.
This was an outstanding achievement and a fantastic demonstration of the young person’s dedication, perseverance and passion for karting.
Everyone at Rooley House is incredibly proud of him, as are his family and friends. His achievement is a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when someone is supported to pursue their interests, practise their skills and believe in themselves.
We can’t wait to see him back on the track very soon, continuing to develop his racing skills and pushing for even more podium finishes!
