Amar House young people turn Eco Warriors!

In September, a number of young people from Restorative’s Amar House expressed their views and feelings about the environment and how important it is to ensure the world we live in is looked after. It didn’t take long for the young people to turn their thoughts into action, by becoming true Eco Warriors, taking practical steps to give back to their own, and wider, community environments with eco-friendly activities.

As well as taking action within the home with support workers, being mindful of water usage, ensuring all recycling is carried out and turning off unnecessary electrical plugs, appliances and lights, the Eco Warriors also ventured out to their local community, picking up and disposing of litter from public places.

The young people thoroughly enjoyed taking part and were recognised and rewarded by members of the public for their outstanding effort and dedication. The young people all expressed a sense of achievement, not only in helping to clean up their own local area and make it a more pleasant place to be, but in having an increased understanding about why it is important to reduce our carbon footprint and keep the environment clean.
