Supported Accommodation Football Match
In a heartwarming display of teamwork and community spirit, young people living in Restorative SCS supported accommodation recently faced off against their care staff in a friendly but fiercely competitive football match. In total, 9 young people, living in Calderdale, Kirklees and Bradford played with 7 Restorative SCS care workers.
The event, held at a local indoor football facility, was more than just a game — it was a celebration of resilience, connection, and the positive relationships built within the support system. Young residents, aged between 16 and 21, were eager to show off their skills on the pitch.
With plenty of laughs, friendly banter, and a strong sense of camaraderie, both sides gave it their all. The match saw quick footwork, impressive goals, and a few surprising saves from the care staff team, who were determined not to be outplayed by their younger counterparts.
In the end, the result wasn’t important and the main message was that everyone involved — staff and residents alike — are part of one team, supporting each other both on and off the pitch.
Plans are already in motion for a rematch later in the year, with both sides promising to come back stronger. Win or lose, it’s clear that events like this are building more than just skills — they’re building a community.
